Our Story …

We'll here we go again folks! This October 2026 myself and old mate Andrew will tackle another Mystery Box Rally in the mighty Ford Fairlane!

We will set off from Charleville & return to Charleville 5 days later, each day in between is a mystery, we have no idea where we will be headed until just before departure the next morning.

Last time, together, we raised $16,000 in the fight against cancer — and made it into the Top 10 fundraisers. An enormous thank you to each and every one of you who contributed to such a worthy cause. This year, we want to raise the bar. Our goal is to make it to $20,000. Cancer has touched my family and many close friends. For so many of us, it’s simply too close to home. That’s why this matters.

If you are in a position to contribute, we would be incredibly grateful. Every donation, big or small, makes a real difference and goes directly towards research and initiatives that help save lives. Thank you in advance for your generosity and thoughtfulness. Your support truly means a great deal. Best regards, Peter Reid & Andrew Byrne.

Here's what I'm doing …

Mystery Box Rally is a 5-day challenge like no other. Participants drive 25+ year old cars along a mystery route, through some of Australia’s most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It’s not a race—it’s a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.

Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that’s all part of the fun. The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way. And when the day’s drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day’s achievements.

This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways—whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we’ll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
