We’re incredibly excited to announce that we’ll be taking part in Mystery Box Rally 2026.
The rally will see us driving a car that is 25 years or older along outback roads, setting off from Charleville and returning there 5 days later. Every day in between is a complete mystery — we won’t know where we’re heading until just before departure each morning.
But for us, this rally is about so much more than the drive.
Kylie’s dad, who is also Ashley’s father-in-law, Gary has been battling cancer for over 3 years now. He has been through constant operations, ongoing treatment and continues to fight every single day. Watching our dad go through so much has been incredibly difficult, and seeing what he continues to endure day by day is heartbreaking.Cancer has also affected so many people close to Ashley. Our sister-in-law bravely fought breast cancer, Ashley’s grandmother also battled breast cancer, Ashley’s grandfather had lymph node cancer, and Ashley lost his best mate Lee to bowel cancer. This cause is incredibly close to our hearts, which is why taking part in Mystery Box Rally 2026 means so much to us.
This is one of the biggest reasons we are doing this rally. We want to help raise funds for such an important cause, make a real difference and support other families who are going through similar battles.
Every participating team is required to raise a minimum of $4,000, with every dollar going directly to Cancer Council Australia to help fund vital cancer research and support services.
We can’t wait to be part of Mystery Box Rally 2026 and continue supporting the incredible work of Cancer Council Australia.
Any support, big or small, will mean the world to us and will have a real impact.
Mystery Box Rally is a 5-day challenge like no other. Participants drive 25+ year old cars along a mystery route, through some of Australia’s most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It’s not a race—it’s a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.
Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that’s all part of the fun. The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way. And when the day’s drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day’s achievements.
This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways—whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we’ll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
Founded in 2009, Box Rallies has raised well over $50 million for cancer research with our chosen beneficiary being Cancer Council.
We are proud to be the funder of national cancer research projects after the Australian Government. These enormous funds raised go towards vital cancer research projects.
Thanks to the community funds raised such as Mystery Box Rally we can fund world-class research that reduces the impact of cancer for everyone.
